Where beauty meet science

At U | 180, we offer women’s health treatments and services to meet the needs of our patients in all life stages. Whether you need treatment for a health condition or disorder, want to balance your hormones, need a wellness exam, or have a more advanced concern, we can provide a treatment plan that helps you achieve and maintain optimal reproductive health.

What Are Women's
Health Treatments?

Women’s health treatments are designed to meet the needs of those in every life stage who want to take preventative or proactive steps to address their reproductive health, treat reproductive health conditions, or address their concerns. Our treatments center around the female hormone and reproductive system and can also meet the needs of women who want to begin a family or prevent pregnancy.

Our goal is to provide women with the education and quality care they need and deserve so they can make informed decisions about their health and feel confident in all their women’s health treatments.

Common Women’s Health Concerns

  • Menstrual Irregularities: Changes in your menstrual cycle can occur for various reasons, from stress to underlying health conditions. Whether your periods have become irregular, heavier, or more painful, addressing these changes is important for your overall reproductive health.
  • Hormonal Imbalances: Hormones maintain your physical and emotional well-being. If you experience symptoms like mood swings, weight changes, or fatigue, it may be due to hormonal imbalances that can impact your everyday life.
  • Family Planning: Whether you are trying to conceive or looking for contraception options, family planning is an essential aspect of women’s health. Understanding your fertility and making informed choices is key to planning for your future.
  • Breast Health: Monitoring breast health is vital, especially as you age. Regular self-exams and screenings help identify any changes in breast tissue, which could be early signs of health concerns.
  • UTIs: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a common but uncomfortable issue for many women. Frequent UTIs can impact your daily routine and may signal a need for further evaluation to prevent recurrence.
  • Sexual Health and Libido: Shifts in sexual desire and overall sexual health can be linked to various factors, including stress and hormonal balance. It’s normal to experience changes over time, but understanding what’s behind them can help you take the right steps forward.
  • Pregnancy and Postpartum Health: From the early stages of pregnancy to postpartum recovery, your body goes through many changes. Caring for both your physical and emotional well-being during this time is critical to long-term health.

The Importance of Regular Women’s Health Screenings

Women’s wellness exams are essential for maintaining your overall health. These screenings help us catch any potential issues early, from cervical and breast health concerns to hormonal imbalances. Even if you feel healthy, routine checkups allow us to monitor changes in your body over time and provide guidance on preventative care.

Preventative Care for Women

Preventative screenings change as you age. For women in their 20s and 30s, routine Pap smears, HPV testing, and breast exams are recommended. As you approach your 40s, mammograms become a part of early breast cancer detection. Bone density testing is often advised around age 50 to screen for osteoporosis. Regular cholesterol and blood pressure checks can help catch heart disease risks early, while colonoscopies are generally recommended starting at age 50.

U | 180 TREATMENTS

Hormone replacement therapy is an anti-aging treatment that we can implement to help women achieve balanced hormones. Aging, pregnancy, illness, stress, medication side effects, genetics, and other factors can all cause a hormone deficiency.

This deficiency, in turn, leads to negative symptoms that interfere with quality of life. A hormonal imbalance can impact overall wellness and physical, mental, emotional, and sexual health, but we can resolve it with a bioidentical hormone replacement therapy treatment plan.

Our women’s wellness exams are designed to help women stay up-to-date with routine testing and protect their reproductive health. During this exam, we focus on vaginal, uterine, breast, and cervix health. During the appointment, women will typically undergo pelvic exams, breast exams, and pap smears.

These appointments also provide women with the space to ask any questions or discuss concerns so that they can get answers and become more informed about their health. We recommend that women schedule these exams yearly or more often if they’re dealing with a specific issue requiring more consistent care.

A low-risk pregnancy is free of any complications relating to the mother or the baby. It’s a pregnancy without serious potential risks as opposed to the opposite, that being a high-risk pregnancy. We offer low-risk obstetric care for pregnant women and will walk with them through their nine-month pregnancy journey and help them feel confident with their care and their health during this time.

We also offer STD testing and treatment to provide women with the information and care they need regarding STDs. During the appointment, we’ll perform the right test based on your symptoms, lifestyle, and primary concerns.

There are several different types of STD tests, including physical exams, blood tests, oral tests, urine tests, blister swabs, and genital swabs. If you do have an STD, we can provide you with a treatment plan that helps you promote the best possible reproductive and sexual health.

Conception management is a treatment process that includes different interventions for women during their reproductive years. Those who aren’t ready to start a family and want to avoid pregnancy can begin a conception management plan and take safe and effective steps to ensure optimal sexual health and successfully avoid pregnancy. We can give you more details about the different options you have, explain each, and help determine which is right for you.

Volvovaginal disorders are any health conditions or infections that affect the vulva or vagina. From mild to moderate to more severe conditions, we can design treatment plans to alleviate symptoms and promote optimal vaginal health.

We also treat abnormal uterine bleeding, a condition in which women experience vaginal bleeding from the uterus outside of the menstrual cycle. It can affect menstrual cycle volume, flow, duration, frequency, and regularity. We can discuss all your symptoms and design the right treatment plan after diagnosing the primary issues so that you can enjoy an improved quality of life and better reproductive health.

If you’re trying to get pregnant, we’re here to help you navigate the process with personalized women’s health support. Fertility can be affected by a variety of factors, including age, hormonal imbalances, or underlying conditions, and we’ll work closely with you to identify any challenges. Together, we can develop a plan that includes lifestyle changes, fertility tracking, and testing to enhance your chances of conceiving.
Managing menopause can be challenging, but bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) with Biote® pellets offers a natural way to restore hormonal balance. These pellets are customized to your body’s specific needs, releasing hormones gradually over time to help relieve symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and fatigue. By working with us, you can feel more in control of your health during this stage of life, improving both your physical and emotional well-being.

U | 180 Procedures

We also offer various women’s health procedures to meet the needs of women suffering from specific conditions and symptoms. Our goal is to provide comprehensive care for women with minor and more complex women’s health needs.

We perform vulvar biopsies, which are procedures in which we remove a sample of tissue from the vaginal region or the vulva. We can use the sample to evaluate it to check for skin diseases or cancer.

I&D stands for incision and drainage and will remove or drain a cyst or abscess. Women with cysts or abscesses interfering with their health or causing symptoms can schedule this procedure as needed and expect excellent care.

An endometrial biopsy is a procedure in which we will remove a small piece of tissue from the uterine lining. After removing the tissue, we will have it biopsied to check for irregularities or cancer.

A cervical polypectomy is a procedure in which we remove a cervical polyp, and it typically takes place during a pelvic exam. The cervical polyp is a growth of tissue on the cervix that is typically non-cancerous but can cause symptoms, including bleeding after intercourse, abnormal vaginal discharge, heavy menstrual periods, and irregular vaginal bleeding.

Women with a Bartholin cyst can schedule a drainage procedure to address this condition and restore normal reproductive health.

We also offer a treatment for Condyloma, the technical term for general warts. We can use different treatment methods to remove these warts and evaluate them to see if they indicate a more serious health concern.

Nexplanon is a type of birth control that is inserted into the inner non-dominant upper arm and will deliver hormones to prevent the ovary from releasing an egg while also thickening the cervical mucus to prevent conception. We can insert Nexplanon and remove it as needed based on each woman’s needs.

We also offer the IUD, which is another type of birth control that is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy. We can schedule appointments to insert an IUD for women who choose this type of birth control and remove it when needed.

We also offer pessary maintenance treatments. A pessary is a removable device that supports the organs after uterine prolapse. We can schedule follow-up visits every few months to evaluate your pessary and make any adjustments as needed.

What To Expect From Your Treatment Plan?

You can expect the highest quality healthcare when you visit our office for all your women’s health needs. Our goal is to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the care you receive and walk away feeling more empowered and informed about your health than you did walking in. If you have a minor or more complex condition or concern, we’ll take every step to ensure you receive the quality care you need and deserve.

Women's Health FAQs

For your first appointment, it’s helpful to bring a few important items so we can get a clear picture of your health. Be sure to have a list of any current medications or supplements you’re taking, along with details of your medical history, including past surgeries or conditions. If you’ve had recent lab work or imaging done, bringing copies of those results can also be beneficial. Jot down any questions or concerns you may have so we can address them during your visit and ensure you feel comfortable moving forward.
Hormonal imbalances in women can be caused by stress, poor diet, and certain medical conditions like thyroid disorders or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Hormone levels can also fluctuate naturally during life stages like puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. Identifying the cause of the imbalance is the first step toward restoring hormonal balance and improving overall well-being.
Symptoms of hormonal imbalance can vary, but common signs include mood swings, fatigue, weight changes, irregular periods, and difficulty sleeping. Some women may also experience issues with their skin, hair, or energy levels. If you’re noticing these symptoms, it’s important to consult with us so we can evaluate your hormonal balance and explore the best course of action.
The first gynecological visit is typically recommended between ages 13 and 15. This visit is an opportunity for young women to start building a relationship with their healthcare provider, ask questions about their body, and learn what to expect as they grow. It’s also a great time to discuss menstrual health and any concerns they may have.
It’s generally recommended to have your first Pap smear at age 21, and then every three years if the results are normal. As you get older, Pap smears may be done less frequently, especially if combined with HPV testing. However, it’s important to continue regular women’s health exams to stay on top of any changes in your reproductive health.
Irregular periods can be common, especially during times of stress, hormonal changes, or lifestyle shifts. However, if irregularities persist or are accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, heavy bleeding, or clots, it’s important to talk with us about your women’s health to rule out any underlying conditions that may need attention.
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) refers to a range of physical and emotional symptoms that occur before your period, such as bloating, mood swings, or irritability. Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a more severe form that can significantly impact your daily life, with intense emotional symptoms like anxiety, depression, or anger. If you feel like your symptoms are unmanageable, we can help you understand what’s going on and discuss your options.

If you need women’s health experts you can trust, our team is ready to exceed your expectations. We can schedule a consultation to give you more details about all of our treatments and move forward with the right appointment type or procedure that can help you take steps toward promoting optimal reproductive health and wellness.
